Pair up students with the playing cards. Have two cards of each number, such that there are the same number of total cards as there are students. Shuffle and pass out cards at random, and then have students find the other student with the same number.

After all the pairs have matched up, collect one card from each pair. Shuffle these cards and pick one card. This will be the first pair to sit at the table.
