Nyu internal medicine residency programs

As a resident or fellow, you also have access to research laboratories that contain state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Most of our training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education , an independent nonprofit organization that accredits residency and fellowship training programs in approximately specialties and subspecialties. As an applicant to an NYU Grossman School of Medicine residency or fellowship, you submit a written application and participate in an interview process.

Eligible candidates are selected based on their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. Interviews for postgraduate year 1 PGY-1 positions take place each November through January for positions beginning in July. If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you via email.

Those who are selected for an interview are eligible to participate in any of the Internal Medicine Residency tracks that we offer, and we encourage you to rank each track that interests you. The clinical investigator track requires a secondary application and additional interviews. Please note that you may not apply for the physician-scientist track during the recruitment cycle. Residents interested in this track initially matriculate into one of the three-year categorical tracks and are able to apply to this track at the end of their intern year.

We accept international graduates and sponsor J-1 visas for applicants who have graduated within the past three years and have at least one year of clinical experience practicing direct patient care in the United States.
